Spring Break Band Camp is a two-day workshop inviting students across NSW with an interest in music to join together in a fun-filled holiday program which runs annually in October.
The workshop welcomes primary school and secondary school students who play an instrument or who have an interest in audio engineering and production.
All instruments, genres and abilities are welcomed and no prior audio engineering experience is necessary.
The workshop includes two jam-packed days of fun, music and education lead by industry professionals with a focus on self improvement, confidence, collaboration and social connection.
WORKSHOP SESSIONS COVERING:
- Motivation, practice tips and discipline
- Performance and playing in a band
- Sound-checking and set up
- An introduction to audio engineering
- Career paths and self management
PRIMARY STUDENT WORKSHOP
The primary student program is filled with activities, games and educational exercises prompting students to discover the enjoyment of playing in an ensemble, working with like-minded students and making friends. Students have the chance to work with industry professionals and take inspiration from some of the best in the business.
SECONDARY STUDENT WORKSHOP
Secondary aged students also participate in activities and exercises prompting social and musical interaction with other students including forming bands and performing together. The secondary program takes students to a deeper level of understanding in each session, with extended topics such as entertainment careers and tutorials with guest speakers.
